The Harbinger: Origins

Noun

harbinger (plural harbingers)

1. A person or thing that foreshadows or foretells the coming of someone or something.

I know my not so new blog is a bit hastily done but it's for the sake of having an appropriate place for my thoughts, views and random things being picked up around me or around the net.

Basically this is my old blog moved into a new home, likely more general than my previous one since it's for a specific MMO which is Granado Espada. Now why "Harbinger"?

It all started on my Prometheus days, back when I participated with the development of such server emulator for Ragnarok Online private servers. The head developer's forum name was "The Harbinger". Then after going on a hiatus, I eventualy broke off with the Prometheus Project and then moved to Vidar, but lacking programming skills, I only can contribute in bug discovery and suggestions.

Next is if you've been playing Dota, you'd probably recognize him/it

Yes, he/it is "Harbinger - The Obsidian Destroyer"

An obsidian construct brought to life through the ill conceived necromancy of the Lich King, Harbinger craves magic to make up for the emptiness brought on by the incomplete nature of its summoning. Ironically however, to devour the magic that it so desires, Harbinger must tap into his own pool of mana time and time again, expending to the point where it ends up with even less than it began with. Yet despite this, the Obsidian Destroyer is a proud servant of the Undead Scourge, and takes great pleasure in annihilating the foolish Sentinels it encounters through psionic exploitation.

It's not that he/it is my favorite hero in Dota, (I can't play him/it well) it's that of his/its concept.

The Obsidian Destroyer unleashes his full potential; his mind unleashes a psionic storm able to penetrate lesser minds with terminal force, dealing massive damage to them. More crafty minds are able to resist most of the damage, but they expend most of their energies to do so

 My name sign is actually Palukz but of course another persona won't hurt I suppose, well I wouldn't be using the overused names (and putting numbers after it e.g. imbauser69) so I came up with "Harbinger" along with its origins to back it up.

And so begins... Harbinger's Journey.

A Closed-eye Attempt on Mixing...

Seriously, I've only done only 1 (which was quite a simple one) remix which includes 3 songs and some vocal and sound effects, it was very simple. And then I decided I wanted to make a remix/mashup (i really don't know how to call it) of the BGM of my favorite MMO (at the moment) which is Granado Espada. Simply put, this was a closed-eye attempt and doesn't feature complex mixing elements since I'm totally newbie on it.

So here it is.

Seriously I fail on this one as I am using a headphone which only the left speaker is working but nonetheless I did it and listened to it and it sounded like a non stop 19 minute flashback of a great year and hope for a better year to come.

Parasite Evil

No no, this is not about a spin off of two action games into one, title misleading eh?
This is about a certain parasite that is so evil, the great demon himself is going to cry rolling along the floor.

Believe me, you'd rather not be away years from your hometown without any intricate communications done within at least a week or so, even if you do so, chances are there's one particular stranger who would want all your relatives' spotlight stuck upon him/her.

This stranger is literally a parasite. He/She so parasitic, I'd rather refer him/her as an "IT". It's hard to imagine your own relatives can be turned against you by this parasite, defending or trying to prove yourself will only do harm than good as this parasite clings to their minds and feeds on long forgotten grudges (or even recent) and little misunderstandings you have invoked upon your relatives.

What is left for you to do? If the parasite's aim is to destroy you or put you into minimum importance (or even turn you into a total stranger to your own blood) Apathy is a good way to go, you cannot go wrong with this one, if you really know your relatives vice versa, the truth will eventually unfold.

Whether you like it or not, you'll just have to see this parasite thrive until the right opportunity comes, confrontation will only backfire on you. What I meant apathy is that disregarding any provocative acts and yet being subtle. Being subtle yet you're fully aware of what's happening. Being aware yet putting yourself on your relatives' shoes on how is it being stirred by a parasite and you do, you'll do good. Remember that anything that this parasite says or does has a chance that it is targeted on you, assume beforehand but don't conclude.

This parasite could have made enemies more than friends (explained by its self-centered and attention whore behavior). There is a good chance that you can ask around but be totally careful , you don't want to talk to the wrong person which I'll refer as "infected". Just start a random conversation topic which will lead to the confirmation of the parasite's identity and ways, just be creative. As much as how your pride goes, you still have to adapt some of the ways of this parasite to survive living with it, it's there to make your life hard to live by.

IF this parasite is your brother's wife then you're probably screwed... just joking, everything still applies, this is just my way of dealing with such parasites. There could be your own way as well.

God help this parasite.
